Mark Leary
Co-Vice Dean of Faculty and Research, Interim Director of WFA–CFAR and Professor of Finance at the Olin Business School
Mark Leary is Professor of Finance in the Olin School of Business at Washington University in St. Louis and a Research Associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research. Professor Leary’s research investigates the motives behind corporate financial policy decisions, including leverage, security issuance, dividend and share repurchase decisions. His work has demonstrated the roles of adjustment costs, credit conditions, and peer firms in affecting financial policy. His research has appeared in multiple journals and has received several awards, including the Brattle Award and the Jensen Prize for best papers published in, respectively, the Journal of Finance and Journal of Financial Economics.
Professor Leary has a B.A. from Rutgers University, an M.B.A from New York University, and a PhD from Duke University. He and his wife, Kate, have two children and are members of Memorial Presbyterian Church.
