Pastor, Central West End Church

Following an early passion for music, Eric began playing upright bass professionally in 1987, freelancing in the Los Angeles area. In 1996, years of alcoholism and drug addiction caught up with him, and his subsequent recovery led to his conversion to Christ a year later. Eric moved to New York City in 2001 to pursue a more focused jazz career, but also with a strong desire to reach out with the gospel to the various people he met. He became a member at Redeemer Presbyterian Church, and eventually came on staff there as a music director. That experience, coupled with an ever-growing sense of God’s call to ministry, led him to Covenant Theological Seminary in St. Louis, where he graduated with a Masters of Divinity in 2008. Upon moving to the city, he met his wife Jenny (who moved to St. Louis in 1988 to attend Wash U, graduating with a BFA in Graphic Design in 1992). They were married in 2007, and they have lived in the city while Eric served as pastor of evening worship at Central Pres. They love running in Forest Park and enjoying the many excellent restaurants the city has to offer, especially if the weather is nice enough to walk.
